In the State Duma the discussion forum of young politicians from the parliamentary parties: Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the «United Russia», the LDPR and the «Fair Russia», was held. Each party sent to the forum 20 of its young militants, which are deputies of the State Duma, of regional and municipal legislative bodies. The leaders of the parties came out before the participants of the forum.
In his speech the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation G.A. Zyuganov elaborated on the causes and possible consequences of the current world financial and economic crisis. The CPRF leader emphasized that none of the bourgeois politicians and economists had clear prescriptions to deal with it.
All the so-called liberal economies have shrunk, including Russia. All assurances that the things are getting better in our country are groundless. The crisis will reach its peak in the autumn-spring.
- The Russian authorities are taking measures to save only the oligarchic capital, and those are absolutely not efficient for the economy as a whole - said G.A. Zyuganov. - The actions are unscrupulously anti-social. They confirm that the current government belongs to the class of exploiters.
Young politicians from different parties were interested in a variety of issues. A representative of Zhirinovsky's party questioned the prospect of socialism building. In response, Zyuganov said:
- Socialistic models are varied. Therefore, it does not make any sense of assessing how much of private, state or corporate ownership there is in China. The documents of the Communist Party of China clearly state that it is guided by Marxism-Leninism, and at the same time being based on the experience, culture and history of the country. Through this interconnection the country within the last thirty years has undertaken colossal jerk, and now has the highest economic growth rates in the world, reaffirming the excellent prospects for the socialist path of development. As for Cuba, it should be noted that the country is living in a blockade for forty-odd years. But even so, the Cuban people have achieved much. The Cubans are wonderful, talented people. They have created the best health system in the region. If in our country an average lifetime for men does not reach 60 years, in Cuba it is over 70 years. Infant mortality there is two times lower than in Russia. Students from all of Latin America come to Cuba to learn, and Cuban teachers and doctors are working in many countries of the region. Therefore, the Cuban people and their achievements enjoy great respect in Venezuela, Brazil, and Argentina.
Gennady Zyuganov was also asked: what, in his opinion, the reason for growing popularity of communist ideas among young people?
- Almost every day I meet with young people - said the leader of the Communists. – I believe the events of the past ten years have educated them better than any abstract agitation. Today in our country already 800 thousand students can not pay for their studies. We have proposed to President Medvedev concrete steps to bale out of this situation. They include: to increase public funding for higher education; to adopt the law on the first job, to put in the way of getting cheap loans for education. Young people can see and evaluate what is happening. Therefore, more and more young people join our party, realizing that without justice is impossible to move forward.
Within the framework of the forum the debates took place. For the first time the debates between the major political parties were held in such a format. Debates were carried on and evaluated by well-known broadcasters, lawyers and political scientists. The CPRF team represented young politicians from 14 regions of Russia.
While members of the jury overcame with difficulty their bias against the Communist Party, even they had to admit that the communists submitted a very decent team. Jurors noted that the CPRF representatives were perhaps the only ones who spoke on the merits of the stated theme, keeping to the main subject, and who had specific proposals.
